help fan color wire

i hve a fan that im going 2 use for a project, its a 3 pin 60mm x 60mm pc fan. i kno that red is positive and black is negative but i want to know wat white is just in case i need it thx in advance.

i belive white goes to a speed sensor but its uneeded but im not sure like 75% tho so just double cheack but white is uneeded either way

ok yea i just tested it on 12v and it works great, i did the temp guage mod ive seen around so yea i didnt need the white wire but i just put some heatshrink over it just in case i need to use it latr. thx a lot though.

yea im just puttin two fans in my xbox and put the temp mod by the heat sink imma move it later mabye but ill post pics when finished
