rapid fire help (555 timer)
« on: November 06, 2009, 08:28:30 PM »
Hi im new here and i folowed GBlasters guide to no programing rapidfire but i have a wierd problem. The rapid fire is either going too fast or too slow in cod4/5. it is a notcible 5 second or more pause and adjusting the 100k trimpot(insted of the 56k resitor) all the way down/up would not help i did not notice any faulty or short circuting in my soldering and the chip also get very hot after 10-20 mins of use. this confuses me i'm going to try using the 56k resitor next. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

The trimpot will not function properly if it's adjusted all the way up or all the way down. It has to be somewhere in the middle. All the way up is too fast for COD and all the way down will only shoot once per button press.

New Weird symptom when i tried to use it with my button it won’t rapid fire but if i touch any wiring on the 555 timer it will rapid fire o.O, and now it doesn’t overheat(soldered it opposite couldn’t find notch). And i made my controllers unmodable lifted tp points but stuck them in place so i could still fire. Any tips on how to keep the tp points on (using 15w iron). And by all the way up and down i also mean the middle values. And one time i made auto weapons shoot 3 round burst.....

I'm not sure I completely understand the problem. If you soldered the timer once reversed you may want to replace it. Many of these components are sensitive and can get easily ruined like that. Also keep in mind that Rapid Fire doesn't work on COD anymore over around 8 shots per second. It makes it burst in a sense.
