a start for a decent cheap rig
also id buy a better heat sing. i dont like the standard heat sink, u need a cd drive.
if it was me id get a better case with a 550 psu and get a little more powerful gpu and a quad. but thats me. ud probably see ur costs up at 650 to 700
but well worth the saving up a bit more

I have an external cd drive. And my dad (who knows what he's doing, luckily) said that he would get me a nice processor for my b-day, probably this one:

Sooooo, I decided to go AMD now, lol, mainly because of price. This is what I plan on using for mobo/cpu/RAM. I'll harvest the rest of the ram from a laptop and upgrade the gpu later.

Bud... while we're at processors. what you u suggest between a 3.1ghz dual core and a 2.66 ghz quad core ?  both are AMDs... and the dual core is a black edition with unlocked multipliers so OC'ing should be easy...

idk i kinda looked over some of the amd pros and not many had a high chache
however i saw some with L3
