PS3 Rapid Fire Revision 3 News (Just My Luck...)
« on: November 14, 2009, 04:57:51 PM »
Well, It's been a while since I've posted anything about the Rapid Fire for PS3. But here's the bad news and the good news.

The Good News:
Due to the incredible support of the Rapid Fire and the amount of people requesting various changes to the Rapid Fire. I will hopefully be releasing the third revision of the Rapid Fire Tutorial sometime soon which will have the following updates:

* Easier To Follow Directions and Images (Hopefully)
* (Although It's Already Been Done) The TP's for use on the Xbox 360
* Adjustable Rate Rapid Fire
* More Official Release of the LED Attachment

The Bad News:
I was planning to release it soon. I've been working hard on it whenever I can find time. I was mainly waiting to pick up Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 next weekend to do further testing before the official release. Unfortunately (of all days), on Friday the 13th my PS3 decided to get the Yellow Light Of Death. I probably won't be picking up a new PS3 for another 25 days or so, but after that you can expect the release of the third revision to the Rapid Fire Mod.

There is some good to come out of the YLOD though:
I've personally discovered that using a Hair Dryer to fix the YLOD actually works despite the fact that it sounded like the dumbest idea I've ever heard (but I had nothing to lose). I'm planning to trade in my PS3 to Gamestop for $150 while it still works (sorry if that seems a little inconsiderate). But for the people like me who think that a Hair Dryer is a way of further breaking your PS3, there is my 2 cents on that.

Thanks for all the support even nearly a year after the release,
GBlaster

Thanks for the update gblaster.
One question, is there anyway i can make the R1 button do the actual rapid firing instead of the momentary switch? I want to use a switch to turn the rapid fire on and off but want to shoot with the actual R1 button.

Sorry for the lack of replies from me. It's great to see people still know who I am. I'm doing my best to keep the manual updated but more and more questions flow in and new revisions of the controller are making things difficult. I'm not quite in the financial situation to be buying new controllers for modding all the time.

In short I'm trying to work on keeping the motherboard revisions up to date without having a physical controller on hand by using the internet and peoples responses.

If I could ask for help from the acidmods community that would be great. It would be very helpful if people could send images of motherboards that aren't in the tutorial already to my email at gblaster7@gmail.com   If you know where the TP's are then send them with the image or incorporated into the image.

Thank You All Very Much...

P.S. add your alias into the email so I can include you in the credits.

You will want to replace R2 with a 100k ohm pot
