hyper gear ds lite help

So then i am pretty nw to soldering and i try installing the hyper gear ds lite, but i have few ???

how do you cut traces
where is the trace and how do you remove the socket in step 3
how to desolder the thing which u put the ds cart in

the trace is the little path that goes from one component to the next, underneath the green is a copper trace. use an xacto knife, or something similar and actually cut through the copper trace that's on the board so that you sever the connection...

If you are new to soldering I would really not go practicing on your DS just yet.  Experiment and make some small projects first.  I would hate to see you screw up your DS.
