Questions about simple PSP case mods
« on: January 17, 2010, 09:20:33 PM »
Hello, I'm Organized_Chaos.  I've recently purchased new buttons for my black psp (silver buttons) and while I'm waiting for them to arrive I've been trying to think of other easy mods I could do.

What I want to know is:
   1. Can I find a battery with a clear case somewhere online? If I decide to get a clear faceplate/backplate I want a battery that isn't black.
   2. What is the part called where the memory stick goes? The door? The part you pull out to insert the memory stick? I want a clear one but don't know what they are called. Do they come with a faceplate when you buy a new one? Or can they be swapped out separately?
   3. Can I buy black power and black WLAN switches? Or are they all silver?

No clear batteries :O  :(   I don't think I want the clear case then. Are all the batteries black? Or are there any that are a different color? Maybe silver or white?

Also, it's not possible to get the clear memory stick door on its own? I mean how many black PSPs do you see with a clear memory stick door? It would look different than any other PSP out there which is what I'm going for. :D

Edit: And I'm getting tired of CAPTCHAs every time I want to say something here  :faint:

what captchas ? i dont have to use any :P Just use the quick reply down here...

Nope , batteries are available only in black.

And yeah , i'm quite sure you'll be able to find a memory stick door on dealextreme.

Another thing you might try is going in for a dual color theme. Keep the sides black and have a clear UMD door. On the front , use black buttons with a clear faceplate. Dual color should look nice imho...

I've done some searching and found this:
http://www.coolmods.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=23_37&products_id=108

It looks like that might be what I want but I don't see the piece that connects it to the PSP. It looks like I'd have to take it off completely to insert the memory stick. Is that how it looks to you?

if I remember correctly you have to transfer the little keeper for the mem stick cover...

if you want a diff color battery then just paint one... just make sure to use a paint that can stand up to the high temps...

same with the switches and trim pieces, they don't come in other colors, but you can always paint them...

wtf is a captcha?

Thanks for the replies guys. Its given me a lot to look forward to.

A captcha is that little thing where its a picture with letters and or numbers in it that you have to type in, it's to stop bots and computer programs from gaining access.

The ones on here use letters like A's that look like R's and I saw a K that looked like an H. It took me three tries to finally figure them out. Although I didn't have to do one the last time I posted... not sure why I had to the first two times.
