Preparing a PS2 Analog Stick for Dual Analog through USB
« on: January 28, 2008, 08:09:23 AM »
Taken all of the other tutorials and think your ready for a nice challenge :D

Well how about attempting Dual PS2 Analogs!! This video tutorial will take you on a step by step guide from Grinding down the traces in the side pots to Soldering in your USB plug to the stick for a good sturdy connection. At this point in time i lack a PSP so i cant do the other side of this mod but i hope this helps someone out here ;)

Tools Needed:

Pliers: Long Nosed and Cutters
Stanley/Exacto Knife
Small Screwdriver
Tweasers (Optional)
Your Wire of Choice (Magnet Wrap or Kynar Wrap)
Your Glue of Choice (Epoxy, Hot, Super etc etc)
Your Soldering Iron Of Choice (Higher wattage for the higher faith you have in your soldering skills)
A USB Jack (The tutorial uses a DIY one)
A PS2 Stick (Or any other Joystick with 2 Potentiometers)

Heres a sneak preview of the goal of this tutorial:

I use Windows Movie Maker in combination with WinAVI Video capture

How i use the video cap thing is i just firewire connect my dv camera put it in record mode and capture what it sees ;)

My friend uses Pinnacle Studio which is by far the best video editing software ive ever seen  :yess:

hopefully someone finds this useful cos i had NO END of trouble with this, i had to film it twice and start the editing process over 3 times cos of sync issues  :boxed:

I use Sony Vegas 8 Pro, and Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, and After Effects CS3, great programs. If you ever need video editing help feel free to contact me.

Great tutorial, but this is just for the analog part, you didn't include how to add it to PSP. :\

bumps to 8 month old topics is usually fround upon, but since you had so much insite into the topic/dicsussion, I will let it slide this once.
