Ipod touch/ iphone app ideas

My friend and I have decided to make an app for the iphone and ipod touch.  The coding will take quite awhile but we'll make it through, especially since my friend's dad writes software for a living and knows a fair amount of physics/chemistry.  What we need though is a good idea for an application.  A game is our first choice, but if we have a different idea for a good app we'll make that too; whatever works.  Any ideas?

Well, um, there's not too much of a market for that app. I know it would benefit you guys but I'm thinking of the bigger picture. Plus, you could just use safari on the ipod/iphone for that.

good luck finding an app that will benefit more then a small community, without it already having a similar app.

I saw somewhere that you might be able to use a c-orientated language. That would definitely be nice because that's what I'm used to right now.

I suggest you go with the browser app idea, especially because a browser app by itself is easy, so it would be a good way to learn some of the iPhone SDK basics.

I think there are a few ways, but generally those ways won't allow your app to be accepted through Apple's App Store, so it would only run on Jailbroken devices.
