ok so if you all remember about a week ago i got 2 RROD 360 offa craigslist for $35 both had samsung drives in them was able to frankenstien parts from both of them into 1 working flashed with iextreme 1.61 360. Yay for me LOL and have decided to mod the leftover case to put onto the working 360. I finally got a buddy's camera so i decided to snap a few pics and start a work log here on the progress .......

mods planed

window in case -done - still waiting on u-channel trim in mail

paint case -fan duct- in progress

add 20 5mm white LEDs inside- waiting for LEDs to get here LOL

put window in top of disk drive-trying to find someplace to order one for the sammy drive

heres pics of what i got done so far .......

The 360 the case is going onto still using it to play atm LOL going to add the LEDs and that to it when i swap cases on it LOL

faceplate and fan duct (kinda mad the controller cover broke off during the painting process somehow (yes the power button, memory card slots IR sensor ,and controller port are taped over wanna keep them white)

and some decals i plan on putting on it before the clear coats so they stay nice and extra stuck on LOL

Was just at Auto Zone getting some parts for my truck and stubbled across these for $19.99 really nice L.E.Ds 18 per strip and can be hooked directly to a 12v point. Figured for $20 i couldn't order the L.E.Ds and get all the stuff and solder them so nicely. I'm going to throw these in the 360 and the other nice thing is they got them in diffrent lengths to and colors -Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and White so would be great for other projects to and alot cheaper and eaasier to use and a quick pick up instead of waiting for shipping if you got a Auto Zone near by. Will hopefully be installing the lights and the case tonight will post pics when finished

L.E.Ds

12v spot i used right behing the power plug

ok i rearranged my L.E.Ds and added a fan controller to the fan i added to the front, I put 6 L.E.Ds under the fan shroud to light that and the bsck fans up, 3 L.E.Ds under the fan in the front 9 L.E.Ds on either end of it and 3 L.E.Ds in the center front of the 360

the rheostat (fan controller Basically LOL)

and i have decided to redo the window in the case do to it cutting off the air flow to the fan i added to the front of the 360 it will still be same window shape color and decals except the corners are swaped around (what i get for deciding to add a extra fan after cutting the window LOL

ok i am in the process of painting and putting the decals on the redone case now and am hopeing to have this project finished by monday, tuesday night at the latest. got my fingers crossed hopefully my window trim will get here by then too LOL

still haven't thought of a name for it yet open for recommendations LOL
let me know what you guys think so far
oh and yes i have heard it 100 times already i know the window looks like a UNO card LMAO

great job on the case, however, your english is VERY difficult to understand, I dont mean to be rude, but seriously? put it all into a paragraph, its like a god forsaken run on..

I didn't think it was too difficult to understand, but to each his own...

Nice paint job, very nice color (looks very similar to the PS2 I did a few years back). What brand is that paint? I tried to read the can but it was a bit blurry

thats the primer i used in the back ground just the cheap primer from walmart but the blue is Krylon Fusion and then i'm just using Krylon clear coat on it to finish it off

the left is the primer i used and the right is the blue is called Patriotic Blue/ Safty Blue

LOL! that is the exact same paint and color I used on my PS2. cool, man, can't wait to see how it turns out with the clear on it. Glad to see the same color/paint used by someone else...

yeah there from auto zone there pin striping decals for a car LOL i can't pin stripe don't know anyone who can so it worked for me LOL yeah i'm loving how bright the lights are buddy already said it looks like the luxor in vegas you'll be able to see it from space LOL

as for a name, I'd say call it The Patriot, and get some red paint somewhere, so it blue red and white LEDs

they come in diffrent lenghs i got the ones that had 18 L.E.Ds per strip and there was 2 strips and i cut them in half so theres 9 on each edge (gonna rearrange them) and yeah there really flexable and they got sticky tape on the back which is nice LOL

kinda off topic but seen these a couple weeks ago and finally got the pics for them but there something some guy up in Cleveland Ohio built in front of his house its right down the street from a buddy's house they are awsome thought i would share them with anyone else whos a Transformers fan LOL

the transformers are awesome!!!! for the LEDS, are they meant to be cut or did u just cut it yourself and just soldered straight onto the traces?

yeah there meant to be cut into groups of 3 and they have taces made for you to just cut down to them and solder to the spots and tape and your good to go, if you look at the pics of the guts of my 360 the lights are the black strips and it has little scissors on them where you can cut them

project put on hold seeing as how the console just e74'd on me and its not coming back tried reflowing the board with my heatgun and still got e74 on boot up i think the hana chip fried cause it won't even work if you press down on the chip so as soon as i find another console this project will continue sorry to all who were keep up to date on it
