PIC physical programmer help

So I tried making a PIC programmer from the JDM page, and I plug it into the serial port and it doesn't work. I am trying to reprogrammer the PIC chip on the xbox chatpad to work with the PSP.

r u sure u got a PIC chip on your chatpad?
I bought a chatpad some time ago and on the chip it said like Microsoft blahblah, it was not possible to programm that chip...
they obviously switched to ROM controller
if the chip says Microsoft ... you'll have to replace it with a PIC µc...i guess that's possible, haven't tried it though
