any one good with msn know the best way to fix error 800700c1

have had this problem tried everything on google last thing i wanna do is formatt anyideas guys im really wanting to go on my msn insted of a 3rd party ap

Right... from what I've read the best fix is to simply uninstall and reinstall MSN (you'll still keep or your emails, most of your data).

You could try downloading CCleaner and using the registry fixer on that to see if the problem is a .dll file that is missing or corrupt.

Please update if anything happens.

tried uninstalling couldn't find it so i reinstalleld it and i got the bsod

That's strange... Did you try the registry fix? You can get the newest MSN (Windows Live Messenger) from the live site.

tried reinstalling it still got 800700c1 and i tried deleteing the corrupted contacts folder
trying avg searching and ccleaner my friend suggested i formatt but i got too much on here i dont want to loose

Uninstall messenger, Go into the registry delete all keys associated with messenger and try to install again.

how do u uninstall it when theres no msn thing in the programs and features part of control panel
