well i almost bought one, well decided to buy one xD
but what i did was buy a new sony vaio laptop
because of multiple things.

-the ipad is still a slave
-no internet tethering between iphone and ipad
-my old laptop was getting fckd up so i needed a new one
-my money wouldnt allow me to buy a new laptop and an ipad :P

I ordered to a US address, a family member happened to be there and will pass it on to me shortly after it arrives

I don't get it. It's just a big ass iPod touch / big ass iPod touch with 3G

I'm not flaming apple, But WHY on earth put a crappy iPhone OS (well actually a mobile OS of Antoine sucks, be it android winmo Iphone OS) on such a device when the HP slate has the same form factor and they put a fully fledged Windows 7 in there? If they put 1-3 USB ports and Mac OS X, I would get this, since in my opinionmafs are the best for web browsing.

i think the reason they used the iphone os instead of mac os is because it is streemlined and also the mac os would be overkill for the products main demographic

Meh i dont like it at all,I'd get it if it had mac OS on it,but the itouch OS is much too restrictive for my liking.They couldve put mac os on it and added a new UI,like ubuntu desktop compared to ubuntu netbook remix.
But IMHO,not worth 599$,not even worth 300$,and to be perfectly honest,I wouldnt bother buying one if they were 50$...
