i know i`ve taken it apart to paint it red but what i mean is when i went to check under the the keys i ahd a hard time putting them back together

I've never seen a tut for the messenger kit, but maybe I'll make one up for it this weekend, I've been wanting to do this since I got my messenger a few weeks ago...

the key boad is a seperat unit, if I remeber correctly it comes out of the shell then has a cover with all the holes, and then the button pad with all the letter buttons, then the actual via pads themselves. you just have to pry it apart. its plastic snap clips. this is all from memory, and beer clouds that lol.

they are just standard smd 0603 leds, get them from uniqueleds.com

lol. also, jrf, thanks for pointing out my mistake, I wrote T6 in the tut, but T8 in the "parts needed". Was thinking about xbox controllers I guess.

no prob man, you can also note that if a T6 is not available you can use a .050mm hex key/allen wrench will also work to remove those T6 screws.

you have to peel back the white plastic layer also, or else you might ruin your board. a bit of advice, dont mess with the 3 point smds. only the 0603s. and you can get cheap ones from buyledsonline.com for 6 cents a light.

yeah, al you need to do is get a finger nail under it and peel her back. but SAVE IT. the chat pad wont work without it. you can re apply it after your done with the smds. just try to be accurate.
