[360] 5v & 3v in the dvd drive.... (hitachi)
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:39:24 AM »
anyway to get 5v in the 360 hitachi drive without frying it??

i´ve read if i use 12v from pin 10 or 12 i´ll have massive problems with my drive...

what if i only use the 5v source at pin 8??

and what about pin 4 tray status ?? there are 3.3v when tray open can i use that??

btw ... can i use a transistor (is that the correct word??) to let leds only glow then voltage on traystatus (pin4) is 0v by using power from pin 8... somehow possible??

to be honest, i would stay away from leds in the disc drive. the 360's disc drive is temperamental enough without any added factors, i can definately see led's getting in the way. i would just stick with leds in the 360 body around the edges, and just cut a window in the disc drive and leave it be.
