PSP on USB drawing too much power
« on: May 01, 2010, 11:06:02 AM »
Hey all, I've had my PSP charging off the USB port for a couple weeks now, and I've had no problems up until now. It seems that it doesn't want to charge off anything. When I plug it into my computer it says that the device is drawing too much power, and when I plug it into my custom made Mini USB AC charger (5V @ 2A) it doesn't charge off of that either.

I checked all of my connections, nothing was being shorted and they're all properly insulated with electrical tape. I thought it could be something with the fuse, but then magically last night it started charging again off of my computer. I brought it to another computer and plugged it in and got the same "drawing too much power" as before, and then my PSP wouldn't charge off of anything once again.

Any help would be much appreciated

It only says that when it's shorting out. Try removing the wire and soldering it carefully again.
