psp slim 2000 its stuck on xmb it wont load please help![PROBLEM FIX THANX]

hello guys was up or down well thats the way im felling right now down, i just recently finish modding my slim custom case and leds well ya already seen it,
the problem is, it was working fine  and then i notice the xmb on startup it was slowing down a bit sometimes i had to remove the memory stick and turn off and back on and then it would load but now its stuck i thought it was brick or some flashes missing so i rehack it over to ofw but no luck so i try cfw and still no luck what could be this problem?

hey. does it have custom firmware? if so go to got to the recovery menu (shutdown psp completely then turn back on while holding the R trigger)....then go to Advanced then select format flash1 and reset all settings. then restart the psp and it should work.

it probably happened when you took some of the parts apart inside the psp.

Hi so do you have a UMD in the Door?

make sure all your parts in your psp are nice and fit. changing or moving around the hardware will mess with the software sometimes. im gunna call you sometime this week. i have been really busy. sorry i haven't call you sooner

ok guys there is no umd but i will reassemble the psp and keep an update 2 c what happen thanx for the help guys i found other people with the same problem on youtube so lets c wish me luck bye bye ok k.a.o thanx.

you need to learn how to troubleshoot.

1st of all, let me explain why that happen.
i have repaired around 2 psp that have this problem.
this problem occurs when the mobo detect there is an UMD in the UMD driver.
this video shows 1 of the PSP that i have repaired.

as you can see it wont load XMB menu.

here i demonstrate on a normal working PSP how that problem occurs.

i tape the UMD switch just to trick the mobo in thinking there was an UMD in it.

so the 1st thing you need to do is desolder the switch. check if the switch are broken.



after you have desolder the switch, turn on the psp and check if the xmb are working fine again.

but if the XMB are still not loading.
you have to rework the UMD BGA

Try it without your memory stick. Sometimes the memory stick will corrupt and have to be formated. So try it with ou the memory stick. Then if it turns on, put it in your psp and formate it... If it reads it. If not try to format it on your comuter useing a multi-card reader. This happens to my psp a couple of times.
