Xbox 360 Freezes
« on: May 22, 2010, 07:09:36 PM »
My xbox 360 freezes usually within 20 seconds of turning on. I was wondering if anybody knew how to fix this. I already replaced the x clamps if that was even necessary.

what else does it do other than freeze?

Does the disk drive make noise?
Does the screen go blank?
Does it make sounds through the TV?
be specific. :D

It makes sound and the disc drive does make noise. occasionally the screen goes green or black but usually it stays at thestart up screen and doesnt do anything

sounds like bad update or something, try clearing the chache:

Go to the system blade and then select memory. Press Y on the HD symbol and then press X,X,Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X. Once you do this a messsage will appear saying: Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices

I have made it to the dash about 2 times and every time i went to clear cache it froze. so ill keep trying that to see if it gets me anywhere. Also its updated to the most recent update. Does anybody think it is a hardware problem?

sounds like it, or maybe the GPU, but it could have bad sectors in the memory, resulting from a bad flash with everyone trying to jtag thier boxes.
