Controller button LED's
« on: May 27, 2010, 09:18:58 AM »
Been a while since I've been here! I have gotten a nice station setup going and I'm getting more and more into the modding.

I would like to know if there is a tut somewhere that shows the correct position to light xbox 360 controller buttons?

Also, I have never used 0603 leds, how do you tell which side is pos and which is neg?

Thanks,
Ryan

Here you go. This is the childboard for the xbox controller tutorials. Spurgurgle did a good number of tutuorials on how to light the controller. https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/board,425.0.html

welcome back =)

Ok, I get the gist of everything but why would the vdd point run constant?

It's a matrix type.

the controller does not shut off you will need to buy a optocoupler

The controller shuts off but when there is an led hooked to the ground and vdd the led shines constant.

yes that is the thing with a matrix the power will still remain constent when the controller is off you need to put a optocoupler in the controller.

Is there a specific model and is there a tut on how to use them?

Found the tut but no model number. The ones I'm looking at are advertised EL817 PC817 Optocoupler IC
