cod 4 multiplayer lag

ok so I got cod running on my laptop, my problem is my connection drops to roughly 10KB/s when I am playing and lags. My ping is fine, always under 90ms. My broadband connection is fine
is there something I need to set up to give it priority or forward a port??

Laptop specs:
e1705
core 2 duo@ 2.16Ghz
2gb 667 ram
Nvidia geforce 7900 gs
all the cod settings are set to lowest
in single player this thing pulls 200fps so I don't believe its my lappy.

This thread may help with some of it. It's most likely a router or modem problem.

Log into your router and cgeck the port settings.

yea I have a smoothwall I will bypass that. I will tinker with the router tomorrow. My isp may be throttling games or something though.
