How can I make my own codes

Is there any information on how to make my own hex codes and get diagrams for them and what program I need that doesn't give my computer a virus :(, could someone help me? :dntknw: :beg:

There has to be some sort of download link at http://www.microchip.com to download a C compiler or some sort of software to convert "*.C" code to a "*.hex" code.

I'm still learning too when i find something i will post ;)

The best way to learn would be to take a course or attend a seminar on the topic, however I realize that many do not have the option.  here are a couple of my favorite sites on the topic.  the gooligum tutorials are written by a well respected member on the microchip forums and last i knew he wasnt hard to track down and ask questions:
