yes, your primary gpu supports cuda technology. i also think the gts 450 might be a bit overkill for a dedicated physX card. up to you really.

Granted, the PhysX card doesn't do much anyway. I think that the 450 would be overkill for that.

i'd start with just buying the 465, and grabbing a cheap card for physX when the right deal comes along.

maybe something between an 8600gt to a 9800? anything around that performance level would work nicely is what i'm reading, but theres tons of forum posts out there about it.

Again, I say just go for a GT 240 for PhysX. That's what I'm going to be using. . .

Best part about it is that it doesn't require any external power source. Just stick it in the slot and you're done.

Any this or last gen graphics card can run physx. Ati or Nvidia, it doubt matter. You can run physx and graphics on one card and it'll be fine.

And there's only a handful of games that use it anyway.

Wrong, you can only use nVidia cards with PhysX.

And Ryan, any card GeForce 7-series and up can do PhysX, there is no specific requirement.

My bad. (I'm sure I had it working with my card at sone point).

Anyway, a good enough processor with a wide bus shouldn't require physx, especially with the mire popular shooters and indie games.

lol thats exactly how I typed it.  apparently my mac doesn't like the return button either.  The only things i changed were the mobo and processor.  the changes are based on previous comments.  And my parents found a computer building class around my area.  He is going to teach me how to build and reprogram a computer.  My plans for this pc are to have a multiboot running linux, osx and windows.

I like it.  Except your RAM is not compatible. Look at the motherboard. The x58 chipset is triple channel DDR3, not dual channel DDR3. Which is good, but this means you need 3 sticks of identical RAM, not two. Meaning instead of 2GB, 4GB or 8GB choices, you have 3GB, 6GB, or 12GB choices.

Here's a 6GB (3x2GB) set I would recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231223

Oh, and I don't like your hard drive brand (Seagate), but it won't matter much.

You're getting there ;)

I mean like programming a game from scratch or editing software.  I wonder what language psps use...  maby edit one of the minis on psn so I have less to look through.  I would take the security stuff and leave it alone then change the game to a hbl running on ofw?

Erm, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that will work? I think the stick has to specifically be a triple-channel stick.

There is loads of homebrew psp tutorials out there... It's just not a good place to start. Before you even think of programming a game you need to learn to program. That doesn't just mean learning all the functions and syntax. It means learning the logic involved, proper formatting, extensions, learning to design a complex function from simpler ones; you may have done HTML or VB at school, but trust me, they aren't the most widely useful languages in the world.

It's probably best to start off with an open-source language (like python 3.1) because they have huge communities and a lot of tutorials and resources. That is when you move to more complex stuff like C++.

Not to pit you off lol, just don't rush in headfirst and find it stupidly difficult.

    // input variables
    double numOne = 0.0;

    cin >> numOne;

    // input numTwo
    cout << "Enter your second number: ";
    cin >> numTwo;

    // input operator
    cout << "Enter the first letter of your operation: " << endl;
    cin >> operation;

    switch (operation)
    {
    case 'a': // if addition
        total = numOne + numTwo;
        operationOutput = "addition";
        break;
    case 's': // if subtraction
        total = numOne - numTwo;
        operationOutput = "subtraction";
        break;
    case 'm': //if multiplication
        total = numOne * numTwo;
        operationOutput = "multiplication";
        break;
    case 'd': // if division
        total = numOne / numTwo;
        operationOutput = "division";
        break;
    default: // if doesn't match any cases
        errorFlag = 'y';
        cout << "User input error." << endl;

I have a lego mindstorms NXT. I used to program it all the time but never got to do bricx yet.  I think its related to c or c++.  I tried to get switched to it (bugged the crap out of the author because it wouldn't connect to my NXT) but never got the time to learn the language.  Maby I could use this as my "learning platform".  I have the origional version. Now time to fund out what happens to the miners in chile!

Hey I just got an itouch and the wifi's disabled for some reason.  Any ideas on this? We just got a dog and it went #1 on the ipod.  It was cleaned (inside and out) and found out the urine came through the top where the pcb is. I have replaced the lcd because its backlight went out.  Ideas?
