I just sent this to sony
tell your psp firmware devs to give up the war.  not many people try to hack their psp because they don't know about it.  95% of psp owners probably dont even know what the hacking scene is or even the importance of it. have you even noticed that when an exploit is found in a game the sales go up on it as well as the system sales? i'd say you could put an exploit in every game and get more sales out of the games.  the hacking scene is dying as well as some of your sales.  if you dont want to lower the security you could add a link for hackers to send their programs to you so you can test them out before signing the codes and selling them.  some of the money goes to you and some goes to the devs.  its a win-win.if a lot of us send messages like this we might get back the hacking scene!

Well, one thing I must say, is that Apple did a damn fine job with handling their hacking scene for their iPhone/iPod Touch lineup. They realized people wanted custom apps for it, so they created the App Store and made money off of it.

I don't know why Sony hasn't thought about doing this themselves. Despite what they think, Piracy =/= Homebrew
