They were told that candy floss would be smelt when the fairground came on screen, and it would even be possible to smell the seaside when you bore the family with your holiday pictures.
The way they do this is weirdly enough with ink jet printer cartridges, the cartridges work when a pulse of current heats a coil and makes a bubble that forces a small amount of ink onto the page.
The reason they use ink jet according to Dr Kenichi Okada, of Keio University,"We are using the ink-jet printer's ability to eject tiny pulses of material to achieve precise control."
The smells where made up of four main smells which combined make, mint, grapefruit, cinnamon' lavender, apple and vanilla.
There have been similar tests in the past but problems have arisen when the sent lingers too long
