Wired xbox 360 Controller install
« on: June 08, 2010, 09:03:24 PM »
Does anyone know if you can install one of these open source RF codes on a wired controller and if so are there any diagrams or pictures on how to install it? I have a wired controller that just sits now and I was just wondering if it was possible. thanks

Ya its possible, but i have never done one.  Im sure you have to use different resistors because the wired controllers are 5v

Yeah i imagine you would have to use external buttons because there is no sync.  I might give it a shot. Ill post pics if i complete it.  If someone figures it out first let me know.

Hey guys,
Just wondering if there has been any further progress with this.  I am in the middle of making a controller with remaped face buttons, and want to install flex to it as well.  Struggling with the flex option atm.  Any advice....cheers

i have done this with a wired CL, it works but you must install like a matrix controller using resistors and a matrix version of the code

Thanks for the swift reply, so with the matrix install do you mean having the switching diodes from the Led pins, or does it need resistors, and maybe resistors on the trigger pins.  Thanks heaps

you wont need the diodes but you need the 330ohm resistors going to the triggers

is the PWM voltage regulated from the PIC's output pin? If not then a 2v supply versus a 5v supply with vary the PIC's output if it does not regulate the output signal's voltage. This matters because the resistor will not work properly.

(im just looking at potential mishaps)

basically what i'm asking is can the supply voltage effect the output voltages' PWM signal's peak?

yes the pic's output voltage at the pin is always the same as supply voltage to the pic

Fookz, I know your a pretty intelligant person, and I have a hard enough time tring to understand you....lol but when you put it upside down it all makes sence....

I just put a 555 adjustable rapid fire in my wired controller and that worked fine. but was a matrix board. did have some trouble but i got it   :yess:

HYPER could you post a tut for the CL board for rapid fire? I had a wired controller that had a CL board and couldnt get it to work at all. either rapid fired all the time or nothing at all. thanks if you could. would help me and many others i am sure.

urm not really as it would be different for each code and i dont have the time but all i did was use bmu 3 setup like a matrix pad but using the cg power points and without the diode

as hyper said to get rf on wired cl just wire it up like or use the martix code... use the usual cg power points no diode for the led and i beleive the led wire goes to the other side of the leds.....

Sigs made by Ken and blazin from the AM Art team cheers guys.....

Ok I see your point hyper, just thought i would ask if it was simple. I know i had tried and asked in a another thread about it. I had alot of problems and alot of time in to it myself. thanks for the reply hyper:)
