Pc Speed, Download speed.
« on: July 01, 2010, 06:28:29 PM »
Hey, I have a question for everyone that is good at PC's. Me, personally I hate pc's I would rather have a mac which I do but needs work on. That's a different story. But, anyways. My PC speed and download speed is Crappy as heck. My average download speed is 100KB/s and My average ping is 137. I would like someone to tell me what I should do to get my PC working faster. Should I add RAM or something along those lines.

Can you please give the specifications of your computer, and also the internet plan or contract that you are on?

Good suggestion, but not everyone has the service/resources to get a plan like that.

Your internet speed depend on multiple things:

how many people are on that same connection
what type of connection (wired/wireless
how fast that connection is in the first place.
etc

The computer itself wouldn't have much to do with it downloading fast (other then maybe using a phone port connection compared to a ethernet/USB connection, but we would need more information on what I said above before we could help you more.

But, if you are only asking to speed your PC up itself. Then RAM, HDD space, and the CPU would be good places to look at first.
