LED Light Bulbs
« on: November 19, 2010, 03:36:13 PM »
This is AcidMods and instinctively we love anything and everything that has anything to do with LEDs right? A big green question in terms of money and the environment is are LED light bulbs worth the extra price up front compared to their less expensive and less efficient predecessors.

Light bulbs for lighting large spaces are old tech but companies constantly put a new spin on them. Well now you’ll be able to buy led bulbs which have lower operating costs in the long run however they are a new technology and thus bring with them platinum prices. The led bulbs will have significantly longer life spans an estimated 17 year life span for bulbs used for four hours a day. However the bulbs cost nearly 40$ and should be regularly available from stores like HomeDepot , Wal-Mart, and Lowes within the year.

So what do you think? Is it worth the energy efficiency, significantly longer life span, and saving you on average 130$ over the life span on the bulb.
