new LCD tv Problem/question PLZ REPLY

hey guys. i just bought a 37 in. vizio LCD tv. i dont really know much about them.

now i have one problem. it has these fainted scrolling lines that appear when im watching tv. it it because i have regular cable going directly into the tv? i read on the internet that its being caused by a "ground loop". now this only happens when im watching tv. it works fine when im playing my ps3.... i have an HDMI cable. is it because of my cable? do i need a box or a ground loop isolator? or should i just call my cable company..... well have my mom do it

I would call the cable company and if that doesnt work maybe contact vizio, maybe theres a problem with the cable connector on the tv. one way to find out hook a  regular antenna to it, and see if it changes. probably cable problem I am guessing , especially if weather has changed. just an idea.  gotta start somewhere

what he said...i love my vizio but even with good cable, low deff programing display is terrable

try a new piece of cable from the wall to the tv, or open the wall jack and replace the female to female connector.

other than that all u can really do is call the cable guy

you guys nailed it.

those lines are caused by stray RF flying around in the air and the signal gets messed up in certain places.

alright thanks guys... it is due to the cable b.c i went used the hi-def channels... like typing in channel 3-1 instead of 3 and the lines are gone and it looked perfect. i need to contact my cable company and they should fix it so i get all channels in hi-def. thanks for the help you guys...... i have my laptop connect to my vizio!!! lol

Your welcome. pretty said that you have to pay for something that doesnt work, I had the same problem with my cable company, everytime i wanted to watch something important the channels would do what yours was doing, finally i just got ride of the cable and kept the internet..... we pay way to much for tv now days, use to go buy a tv bring it home and watch it. now gotta pay for service to watch your $1000+ dollar tv . what a joke....lol
