So, before I gave up my xbox gave me the following errors:

- E71 (Dashboard error)
- E74 (Hardware error)
- E79 (Dashboard error)

Also, it has to update off XBL everytime I sign in (due to there being missing components on the dashboard)

Oh, and it freezes after about 5 minutes of gameplay use.

sorry freek, I saw the post and did not have time to respond. I kinda figured you were just on a rant as I would be. I did not know you realy wanted me to confirm that your xbox is a paper weight. but hey it works very well at holding papers down when the wind blows.

Its fine, and yes, it has been doing pretty good at holding my homework to my desk.

Well if there's nothing to do with it here are somethings you can try.

When powering on hold the syc button to fix the bad dashboard

Then try reflowing it so everythin is well connected and no cold solder joints
