TRON Deluxe Identity Disc "Fixing" help

Ok So I bought the TRON Deluxe Identity Disc the other day...

It lights up and flashes and makes noises however since I'm a perfectionist when it comes to things I really like..... I'm gonna point out that 99% OF IT IS WRONG! haha

The sounds are not correct and the discs are not suppose to flash. However, it IS supposed to light up in sequence which it does when you first turn it on.

Anyway to my project:

I am currently working on adding more LEDs to it so that it lights up completely, but I would like to "reprogram" it so that when I hit the button it lights up correctly (in sequence) and just stays lit until I hit the button again in which it will do the same thing it did to turn on but turn off. Having it play the correct sound right now is a PLUS but not a requirement.

So..... What's the best way to accomplish this?

use pic and program the sequnce you want, probablly want hyper to help you with that

couldnt he wire leds in parrallel to the ones already in the board ?

no that wouldn't work that would just cause the LED's to light up all at once. he wants them to turn on one at a time.
