This is what i think also but its rare that the psp has the problem only when the music is high. If it was a short it should fail always no??

did you use a transistor?

No, only leds. I did another mod with 8 leds and withot transistor and i didnt have this problem

looks like too much  power going to the leds when it goes high the psp shuts it self off to save itself ? could also be a short

I would have to put a resistor??

I would need a 22 ohm resistor but i would like to know if someone has had the same problem to confirm 100%

btw you should always use a resistor to save your leds life in the long run i always use 1 :) so i think that would be a great start and also use a diode so power doesnt go back to the speakers ?

i do not think a diode is needed as an LED is a Light Emitting DIODE, but a resistor should be used even if it isnt the cause of the problem

it doesnt do the same thing a diode stop the current and voltage going back it make it go 1 way better safe than sorry ? maybe it does stop it going back though seen as it and led :)

yes an led does stop reverse current flow try it with your multimeter

@rafaliyo86 try it with a 22ohm resistor as you should have used one anyway, but you might just get lucky and fix the problem aswell

ok i will try it, but i have another problem. yesterday a friend brouht me a psp wich didnt turn on, i did a bridge in the power fuse (like mine) and worked, but now when i press the analog stick or a place near it the psp gets freeze. i have tried with my psp wich has a bridge also and it happens the same. Here is a vid:

Psp fail

this is what i thougth but sometimes gets freezes without press it. Its very confusing

With the orange led i have a update, i dont have put a resistor yet but if a plug the charger and the music is loud the psp doesnt turn off. Only turn it off when the volumen its at the maximum. if i under it just a little it doesn turn off

if the led problem is still bothering you id try a greater resistor
100ohm seems to be the magic number i use for everything so maybe try that ;)

hyper not meaning to sound rude mate but the guy has a different problem read a couple post up if your bridging the fuse what was the rating of the fuse and use the same size resistor as the fuze ?

i know he has a problem except i have very little knowledge of psps so im offering help for the bit i know about, instead of just randomly guessing a solution for a problem and posting crap that wont help.

im not good with psp either just thinking if you bridge a fuse it renders the fuze useless so shouldnt you replace it with a resistor ?

fuse and resistor are two different things, a fuse doesn't limit the current, just stops too much getting to the circuit by breaking. just sayin' ;)

and it sounds like a bigger resistor is needed as hyper said, because if its fine all the way until it gets too loud, it must just overload the circuit

and for the nub, check for a cold solder, just re-solders the nubs points, that  might work

never said they where but if the resistance goes over the resistance of the resistor it will blow out so same really but not at the same time :)

no they are not the same! a resistor should never be used in place of a fuse!

Ok guys i have fixed the led problem. I put a 100 ohm resistor and worked but leds blind very slow, i changed it for a 22 ohm resistor and works also. Now i only have the rare problem when i press the analog stick or nearly it

I have had this problem before on a past mod. If you are using high intensity LED lights, they will tend to demand more power and over tax the power systen in the psp. the PSP has some kind of fail safe that shuts down when too much power is being drawn.
Sounds to me like a form of overheating prevention.

Gotta throw some resistors on there to tame those lights, It also never hurts to stash a toggle switch in there somewhere.

i dont know jack about psps but, its unlikely that a power short would cause it to freeze, however; i was thinking perhaps it could be a short that is causing an unexpected input (such as the joystick being left and right at the same time, which is normally impossible) and causing the psp to freeze. I may not be right but i thought i'd just throw it out there as noone seems to have experienced this before...
