Helllllp ! XBOX 360 SLIM

So yeah Im thinking of buying a Xbox slim 4gb then hack it to 500gb to play games from hardrive.
The question is that what type does it use? Whats the best? Who has done it? Is it SATA or  ATA or a different type?
I cant find the information anywhere any help would be appreciated.

erm i dont no if this will help you but on friday i modded my hdd off the old xbox 360 its a little hardrive made by samsung so im guessing its the same thing can you  open the xbox and take a pic of the drive?

nope you want to use a DOS program called HDDhackr google it there are thousands of tutorials
-it uses a select few western digital scorpio laptop harddrives (this is very specific you cannot just use any harddrive)
-all of the compatable harddrives will peform pretty much the same
- i did it about 12months ago but only 250gb with a regular xbox

however i do not have a slim so i do not know if the 4GB slim has a 4GB harddrive(seems odd), or just an empty hdd slot and 4gb of onboard flash memory. if it is the latter then you will not have a hardrive shell to hack and your new 500gb hdd will not be plug in 'n' play

EDIT: unless you have found some awesome way of hacking slims you cannot use a 500GB only a 250GB

Uhhhhh that won't be possible since the slims are not jtaggable. For an xbox to be jtagable, it needs to have a 7371 dash. Regular Xboxes can only read a 250gb hard drive. And you can't play games straight off the hard drive without it being jtagged.

Yeah I know, but only up to 250gb. But you still need a jtag xbox to play games straight off the hard drive

well actually you can also do that without a jtag, you still need the disc in the dvd drive but itwill run of the hdd

I bought it, and I know it cant be Jtagable until some Pro HACKs it.
I have a question to who ever wants to answer it.
WILL ANY LAPTOP HARD DRIVE WORK.

No not just any laptop hdd will work only specific western digital Scorpio drives will work (as stated before.
