Somebody help me with this netbook?
« on: January 18, 2011, 11:34:58 PM »
So my gf has a accer aspire one 10.1 in netbook and the screen cracked on it.  So I purchased a new screen from eBay that matched the type of led screen she had or it says that it is compatible. (3rd party) I have done this to one other laptop without a hitch.  This one is giving me a funny blurry fuzz on the right side of the computer screen and a very dark backround everywhere else.  I do not know if it is the wrong screen and does not match up with the netbook or if the inverter is bad but the backlight of the screen lights up and the new screen came with a new inverter.  The screen I purchased is new. any help would be great.
here is a photo of the screen.

Was it only the screen that was changed? have you plugged the laptop into an external screen?

Yeah I plugged it in to my monitor through a side port on the net book and the picture was great.

Okay, it's not the graphics chip or the processor then. Hmm.

Is it the same screen as came with the laptop?

It said in the listing it was a compatible screen with my computer type. Rechecked cables and ports everything is how it should be.  I'm thinking the screen doesn't match my computer model even though the listing said it would, it should plug play for the most part.  Have you guys ever seen a screen look like this?

That is a faulty screen. Contact the seller and request a replacement.

I just want to also point out that even if an external monitor works and the internal one doesn't, the graphics card can still be faulty/damaged. That's just a bit of info, though. This screen is bad regardless.

I contacted the seller and he said it is most likely a defective screen and offered me another screen. So hopefully this time it works.
