RROD (E74) again
« on: March 13, 2011, 04:02:24 PM »
Okay so I have re-flowed my 360 a couple times and it works great for many hours of game play but after a while it starts to glitch out and then when I restart the box it has the RROD again.  I know I am re-flowing it right because I am following crazy's tut so I don't know what is going on.  The original error was E73 and that one fixed just fine but now every new RROD pops up with the E74 error, is there something else I can do that could provide a more permanent fix to this issue?

A more permanent solution other than a reflow would be reflow+liquid flux OR reball.

You can order a small bottle of liquid flux on ebay for like $2

Then do you just put the flux around the edge of the chips and then do the re-flow?

Ok s oI figured out how to liquid flux the gpu, is there any type of shop that I could maybe find it locally?  I could order it online but then I would have to wait and I try and avoid fleabay when I can.  I guess more importantly what types of shops might have it for sale

I honestly cant think of any places locally that would have it. Maybe FRYS but its doubtful.

I mean for this price its worth waiting a couple days for it to get to you. And i know what you mean about fleabay lol

Yeah I checked frys online but it wasnt too helpful.  I liked the buy 2 get 1 free deal haha but I just dont think I could use 3 bottles in a year since I dont fix that many boxes.  Maybe Ill just break down and order a bottle so I can get my box fixed more permanently by the end of this week.  Plus I need to work on senior project anyways so its prolly good it broke down haha.  Im sure once I get it in I will have more questions but for now thanks for all the helpful replies

Edit: never mind, he requires paypal which I don not have set up at the moment and says it takes 3-5 days to transfer money to it

ok so I got my liquid flux in today and re did the reflow so fingers crossed this will be fixed for good.  When I was browsing the web I also came across a neat design for an air nozzle holder which I will need to take some pics of and post, it helped a lot and was much sturdier then the clamp set up I was using before and was fairly cheap to make ~$5.

Again thanks for all the advice, this site is very helpful.
