The brand new beta version of Apple’s iOS 5 has been jailbroken the second time this week! The new version allows users to jailbreak iOS 5 devices using the latest version of Redsn0w.
Earlier this week the iPhone dev Team announced the release of a new tethered version of redsn0w for the new iOS 5. The new version of redsn0w allows users to install Cydia a tool that grants access to applications not approved by Apple.
The developers of the new redsn0w caution users to be aware of a few points of interest with the new version.
• It is a tethered jailbreak. Thusly if a user reboots the device it returns to stock settings and will need to be jailbroken again.
• Users who have unlocked there iDevice should avoid the beta of iOS 5 as well the newest redsn0w jailbreak because it may undo the unlocked status.
• The newest version of redsn0w 0.9.8bi only works with Mac – however a Windows compatible version will presumably be available at a later date.
• Currently Supported Devices:.. iPhone3GS, iPhone 4 (GSM and CDMA), iPod Touch 3G and 4G, and the original iPad.
