That is the style board i had but i didnt have to change the small chip just the bga... I had a BMD-001 and replaced it with a BMD-002 different style board then one shown there

the bmd-001 has A 3 on the board and i believe the other board i replaced it with was a bmd-002 B 2 or A 1 or A 2 was a while back when i posted this so dont remember what the board was if i can find a pic of what the board looked like I will post pic. they looked nothing a like the boards didnt and I just replaced the BGA nothing else

This help? Do i need to remove both chips as described above?

1TONpete knows when they changed certain logic boards. so wait to you hear back from him before changing the smaller chip.

managed to swap chips over to a new board and now it takes and ejects disks. still no show up in the dashhboard tho. My origional board was a BMD-001 ... 1-871-575-24 A(2) and i put its chip onto this board BMD-001 ..1-871-575-24 A (3)
all i need to no now is that do i need to put the other chip onto the new board as posted above?

sounds like you dont have the bga fulliy connected... i would open the top up and see if the laser is working...  then we can see if you have to change the other chip
