Weird LEDs...
« on: April 24, 2011, 12:13:39 PM »
I've intalled leds for my cousins psp but something weird happened...
The blue leds had a faint green coloring even the white ones,
It emits green light why is this happening?
Should i be bothered about this...

bad batch of LEDs. it happens.

when they dope the semiconductor material sometimes it doesn't mix well and there is an unevenly blended semiconductor.

Another cause is the forward voltage could be too high and the led changes color because of too much heat. (use a resistor).

if they sparked as in "popped" you are using too much voltage...

you need a resistor.
