In a post on Sony's own news blog, Patrick Seybold (senior director of communications and social media) announced on the blog that "We are still preforming tests on the new securities of the PSN Network (PlayStation Network) and will not be able to meet the originally specified time frame".
He also went on to say that this delay is also due to the rumors spreading around the Internet of another planned hacker attack on an unspecified Sony online website. And that in order to protect the rest of their online customers they are "diverting" their attention from the rebuilding of the PSN to keep closer tabs on any other breaches of security.
So for those of you who were hoping that the PSN Network would be up in the near future, looks like you'll be waiting a bit longer. But until then we just have to hope that the hackers responsible for this attack don't cause any more damage then they already have.
Once again i guess only time will tell...
