SNES USB Controller with Storage
« on: June 05, 2011, 07:58:45 PM »
So after making my NES controller some of my friends asked if I could make a SNES controller with on board storage as well, and I replied "Challenge accepted!" so here are some pictures of the controller

I used the same converter chip and USB hub as the NES controller and used a 2GB Mushkin USB drive.

I loaded SNES9X and NEStopia along with every NTSC game (includeing Star Fox 2 :D) and still have over 1GB free

After putting the controller together the Start button was giving me some crap so I scrapped it with the exacto knife and it is good as new

EDIT: Sold the 2GB controller to a coworker so I did a 4GB version, I think this one looks a bit cleaner than the first one

thats cool

but what exactualy does it do??? sorry to sound dumb....

but am i correct in thinking that its a snez pad with built in storage to hold games and a emulator??? so you can plug it in say ur laptop and do snez type antics?????

if so that is the coolest thing ever.... a usb snez.... plug it in and time travel back to the snez days.

if im correct in think that... i must have one....

That is exactly what it does, plug it in snes9x and the roms are stored on the controller and I can use the controller to play the roms

Great work. I like where you went with this. Have you plugged the snes controller into a ps3 yet? results?

nah haven't tried it on the PS3 yet I'm an Xbox fan myself and my younger brother has been playing infamous 2 non-stop.  I just hook the PC up to the TV when I wanna play SNES on it

I did take it to school and played mario kart with my buddy beat him 3 times before he rage quit  :#1:
