That is retarded, you're asking for injury. If you have a soldering iron, stick a flathead screwdriver into it. Bam, high precision melting thingy.
i wear thick gloves, im not that stupid. but thanks for the idea.
well i assume if he doesnt care about it and he does it pretty well its all fine from here edit______lol i just modded one of my little nerf guns xD its so frikin loud!
Just going to burn some nerves off happen to me when i first laid hand on soldering iron.
LOL about the nerf gun... I heard those things can hurt if modified!!huh? lol
it looks like you tryed to cut it out with a spoon
just made a lil discovery that most ppl probably already know...i was playing around with the silver circle on the umd door and snapped it in half.ok heres what i found out...not only is there a plastic sticker thats also used as the adhesive.but if you take that sticker off you will be left with a shiny part of the ring (sorta reflective).so there ya go if you want a shiny umd ring take it out peel off the sticker and wala. l8r
i mean as in chrome shiny not brushed metal shiny. when that sticker is removed it has a reflective surface. the only way i found to remove the sticker was to snap the ring in half as shown below.
Use alcohol or some goof off/goo gone to remove tsticker from the ring.the think that sucks about the CE rotary tool is that it only has 4 speeds. All of my Dremels are variable speed, which helps a ton when dealing with different plastics.I found that using the dremel sanding wheel with a heavy grit works very fast for UMD door smoothing.'If you want to do it the ghetto way, get a 200watt soldering gun (tips are cheap, or use copper like F00Kz did in a post somewhere around here) melt the bo-jesus out of the circle, sand the rest when done.if you want to go cheap:work from the back of the UMD door, draw a circle about 5mm away from the outer side of the UMD ring. Use a magnifying glass on a full sun day and melt the plastic (will only work with dark PSP's (unless you use permanent marker to make it dark)to sand it cheaply, use a fine thread long bolt/screw and file away the plastic. This will be basically a free way of getting it done as I have never been to a home that didn't have a magnifying glass and a fine thread screw/bolt of some type. (screws that join door knobs work well)
cool.yea it only has 4 speeds (im kinda wondering if they sell a part for it that will make it variable idk) and thanx for the tip on the ring (what kind of alchohol btw?)
is the sticker on the front of the ring or the back of the ring? i tried alcohol on two different rings (1000 and 2000) both oem i only did it on the front of them though, bu it didnt change them one bit
when i do it dosint seem like its doing anything at all, i rubbed it for like 5 mins then tryed to scrape it with a flat head, it doesint do anything.
