PSP rumble mod questions
« on: June 08, 2011, 08:57:34 AM »
So I have decided that the next mod I am going to do to my PSP is going to be the rumble mod

I plan on wiring the cellphone rumble motor to the speakers and also putting in a switch to save battery time.

so my question is
1.Where would be a good place to put the Vibrator?(its a standard vibrator which you find in cell phones)

2. Should I use hot glue or super glue to mount the vibrator?

3.Will I need a transistor or will direct contact do the trick?

4.Any other suggestions?

Sounds cool.

1. You want to mount it on the opposite side of the battery.

2. Use hot glue.

3. and no you shouldn't need anything, but its good practice to look and see how many volts the motor run at to use the right contact points then go from there.

hope this helped.

the motor runs fine off the PSP battery.(3.6v) so I shall be installing it soon.
and do you mean I should mount it under the daughterboard/wifi board?

and could you also tell me what is the max voltage on the speakers?

UPDATE

I wired the motor to the speaker and there was very little response so I think I need more current.
Is there some way to amplify the voltage?

And I think you mean the cavity behind the battery push button but my motor is round and I found some space near the UMD gears.

please tell me if I can amplify the voltage somehow

Correct me if I'm wrong, but i thing you can use the speaker as a sort of switch, where you connect the positive to a higher voltage and the negative to the ground for the speaker.

Sorry i cant give you exact points to connect.
