First of all, hate to sound like an idiot, but is modding a 360 controller completely safe?
And now for the actual idea: to put a 360 controller inside a GCN controller or some other Nintendo controller. Here's what I'm planning:
- Replace guide button with start button, possibly enlarged, keep LEDs (or at least the placement) and maybe change them blue (or just keep everything)
- Just buy two GCN controllers, either classic indigo or Wii white (haven't decided), use Z buttons as bumpers and the L/R as triggers (of course).
- The A/B/X/Y should be obvious. Entirely different placement, but it doesn't matter. It'll be interesting.
- Remove cord entirely, seal hole to make it match rest of controller.
- Replace C-stick with analog stick from other GCN controller.
- Keep all wireless, battery and rumble components of 360 controller intact, do not modify (not worth the risk or the time).
The number of controllers I get is no problem. I have a knack for finding things extremely cheap. So I'm basically just asking you if this is too ambitious and what you think I should do with it (color, LEDs, ect.).
