Two MODs using SYNC button ?
« on: July 01, 2011, 07:12:10 PM »
Hi all. Been a fan of AcidMods for a number of years but only just joined.

I searched through all the controller mod pages and several others looking for an answer to my problem but could not find anything. Forgive me if I missed it and rest assured I'll flame myself if I did.

Anyway here is what I'm looking for help with

I have a CG controller and want to install two different PIC based MODs for my son.
One is a multi mode rappid fire mod and the other is a multi mode ABXY LED mod. Both of these use the SYNC button to activate and cycle through modes but only separately.
I would like to configure them so that pressing the SYNC button would activate and cycle the LED mod but pulling RT and pressing SYNC would active and cycle the rappid fire mod. Could anyone give me a suggestion on how I could wire them to work this way as I really dont want to drill and add extra buttons or switches.

Thanks in advance

you would need to rewrite the code to do what you are asking.

you would need to rewrite the code to do what you are asking.

The MODs are two separate PIC chips. Both use the momentary ground from ANY button but it is recommended to use SYNC. I've been thinking about it and wondering if I could use a dual comparator. Connecting ground from SYNC to input A1 and B1 then connecting ground from LT to input A2 and ground from RT to input B2 then have the output from A connect to one PIC for LED and the output from B going to the other PIC for rappid fire.
I'm not an electronics expert so I don't know if that would work.

i think you could as long as you use 2 pics. Also, (im sure you know) they will both be activated or will changes modes at the same time whenever you press the sync button.

I could be wrong here but you might want to/have to put a diode in between each pin of the pics and the sync button just to prevent any possible interference. But I could be wrong.

you could always add one, any n00b who has never payed much attention to a wired controller wouldnt think twice about it, they wouldnt know the difference lol.

you could still do it and just add a tack switch on the back of the controller even on the wired controller,

EDIT : some where on the site theres a place you can put the tack button just like the sync button on the wired controller  will try to find it unless someone else does before me

EDIT: here i found it . for a wired controller...  https://www.acidmods.com/forum/index.php/topic,37268.0.html
