Xbox 360 Controller Quickscope button Mod

I have been trying to make a quickscope button for my controller and here was my first idea


And Then I realised that didn't work that well so I though about using a 555 timer maybe something like this, also I wan't to try and stagger the two so you get a better quickscope.


I don't know much about programing PIC but I am going to try and learn does anyonewhetherwether this would work?
