bicycle led mod
« on: October 02, 2011, 09:24:14 PM »
sup guys
yesterday I did a bicycle led mod and put in three blue leds in parallel with a 3.7 battery.
Now my question - The battery I used was from an mp4 player which charged via usb(5 volts)
so If I connect the battery directly to 5volts would it charge?

will put a video of the mod up soon!

It would charge it. I would suggest that you make a voltage divider and charge it from that so the battery doesn't see more than it should.

hooking it directly up to 5v probably isnt a good idea. there are plenty of charge circuits that will charge the battery properly and safely.
i use this to charge small lipo batterys, but you could probably make one for cheaper.
