not the globe kind..

1.. i had one. and me and my brother was messing with it. and our elbows hit. and it shocked the hell out of us.. come to find out at the base it was loose.. so there you would have to put the whole thing in there? if not. then it would attack everything.. right?

i think that it wouldnt work right.
what i mean to say is, it would want to go to the part that was closer more than the part farther away, i also think they have those at least somewhat vacuum sealed (i know the last one i had was)

It would be a cool thing to have working but I can't see this working because the xbox metal chassis will ground the glass of the plama ball (or whatever shape the glass is).

The metal case will inhibit the electricity from looking cool.... so instead you will just see all of the electricity clump together in the glass to ground... it won't look cool.

EDIT:

Well said. But some can have gasses in them like argon or neon.

you might get away with putting one of the flat ones in a window if you were to cover the side thats interal with a few layers of insulating tape and fix it with rubber grommets etc but it would need a lot of work then the get the plexi to fit just right around it. you would need to experiment
