jtag help.. rrod
« on: October 14, 2011, 08:53:48 PM »
so i jtaged a 360.. matt helped me through most of it. and Rodent. and Anonamous.. thanks guys

i added the molex connector to the bottom of the board to add a fan. when i put the mobo back in. started rrod..

first it was 0102.
replaced the xclamps. worked. for a little while started freezing..
throw another error. i was getting e79. i figured that was from the jtag wiring

i reflowed today. the 0102 went away and gave me e71. so i built a new freeboot.bin..

now its 0022

ive reflowed the hana, gpu, and cpu.. :/.

any suggestions?

Check your jtag solder connections too, make sure they arent shorting anything on J2D2, J1D2 or J2B1 that wires do not go to for the hack. I think I recall seeing in the Xenon hardware sheet that some of them connect to the cpu and gpu n crap like that (obviously the SMC too hen the name the SMC hack)

Oh and BTW, you spelt my name wrong lol.

make a new freeboot image and reflash it

Like I said It dosnt seem to be a problem with the xbox, but with the programming. this is all bootleg homebrew. It has issues.

put the original nand back on it and try it.

i have never had rrod issues from a bad flash on a jtag. Only issues were hardware issues.

today i took my jtag apart so i could do install the protection jumper to protect the efuses from an official update. once done i put it all back together and turned it on only to get a rrod then a e79 error.

I turned the xbox off, and back on, then it hung on the load screen, but no errors. I reset the xbox one more time and loaded perfectly.

yea i saw somewhere where you could remove a resistor and bridge the point. might do it..
the aud_clamp wiring is supposed to keep it from e74..

after i installed xbr it doesnt rrod but..

if i have the dvd drive hooked up it will 0022. unplug it, it works. if i have a usb plugged in. e71. take it out. works.

thinking about starting all over. flashing the orginial nand. install xellous. then make the freeboot.

sorry your having so much trouble man. I cant get dashlaunch to work properly, it keeps booting to the nxe instead of freestyle. I changed the path correctly and everything....but I can launch FSD from xex.

now i have been having issues with storage space for my arcade backups because they can only be launched from a MS hdd or MS formatted usb space. Well with freestyle dash it will load up the games from any file path. I use xex to copy the content from the official hdd to a folder of choosing on my usb hdd and then set the file path correctly in FSD. only problem is I cant move the 20 gigs from the official partition on my usb hdd except through official ms means. so the stuff on there I have to move back to the official hdd to convert the file over then move them over to the usb hdd from xexmenu again.

lol its about data management. I just kinda winged it when setting up my jtag storage. I wish I would have gone all the way to freestyle dash then started organizing data.

anyway good luck to you man

no jtag is perfect. found that out. lol i thought after the hardware stuff easy. nope wrong. lol. i ordered a 360 hdd case for mine. and going to put a 250gb in it.

ive got some isos i backed up. and i got to convert them to god. then back to iso. then back to iso and extract them and works perfect. idk why so much converting.

for the arcade. either get a transfer cable or ftp into the m$ harddrive and get the live games... took this off another site may help ya

For anyone else who wants to play XBLA from external USB drive.

You have to create a folder called Content in the root and within Content create a folder called 0000000000000000 (16 0's) so it looks like this USB:\Content\0000000000000000\ download XM360 then use xexmenu or freestyle dash to run the XM360.xex then you should see them and be able to unlock everything and to play them.

so i was playing last night. and starts freezing. turn it on. 0022. i took it apart. and bolted it through the chassis. while i had it apart i added the molex and the fan molex thing. and soldered the sata cable to the bottom for a 3.5" hdd. now when it boots gives me 0102.. looks like i gotta reflow. but before i do i will unhook the sata and molex.. fml

heatgunned it. working. also didnt remove the molex cables or sata or hot glue on the bottom and its better tacked. :p. thanks though.
