In the battle for tablet supremacy the Kindle Fire from Amazon could very well knock big names like Apple into place with it’s cheaper alternative to an iPad.
It is clear that for now Apple will continue selling their tablets for up to seven hundred dollars. In the present time, the Kindle Fire has the power to set the current price standards ablaze, and cause consumers to reevaluate the current pricing bar that companies charge for seemingly alike devices.


“Why buy a $500 Xoom if you can get most of what you need from a $199 Fire or a $199 Samsung Galaxy Tab? Or a $249 Nook Tablet? Or a 10-inch Lenovo IdeaPad for $349.99?” -cnet

Despite other devices, even arguably better devices being available on the market for a lower price, a cnet poll shows that 44% of the market that were polled would buy another iPad.

The competitors' prices may not affect Apple right now, although it is likely that in the next year, or even two years, we’ll see that consumers start spending more wisely, while Apple lowers its own prices to stay competitive.

Nah nothing special, with adobe not developing flash any more for mobile devices I do see android devices sales slowing down unless android comes up with summit amazing....so its this with a large screen and if your lucky 1 update or an ipod touch with a few more updates.
The prices of android devices in the uk being so high to the point some seen more than the ipad makes me thing twice....some android tablets are so bloody pricey I can build a itx gaming pc for £60 less....0r if im willing to add a extra £100 i can buy a gaming laptop

They're all probably made in the same plants in china....that includes the iPad. No one product is the best, it's about what suits you the best. Why would you buy a $600 Ipad if your only going to read emails or web browse on it? If thats all your going to do, save some money and buy a tablet mentioned above. Now, on the other hand, if your going to spend countless of hours playing games n whatnot, the Ipad is probably for you.
