Game and DLC regions

I bought a ntsc version of mw3 (since games are so expensive here), although the game plays completely fine on my pal console apparently the dlc I download wont be compatible with the US region game.

Anyway my thought was to install a friends pal game on my hdd, and run it like that. My question is which region will it take? My disk's, or the actual game that it is loading from the hdd?
