DVD drive problem
« on: November 25, 2011, 07:00:03 AM »
is there a way to find out what kind of drive went in a 360? I have a console with Lite-On drive that doesnt read at all. Ive tried adjusting the POT with no luck. I've tried spoofing another drive to lite-on and it will read but gives an error message "this disk must be played in xbox 360" or something similar to that. I bought 3 consoles in a bundle deal, Ive got other 2 fixed but this one is still troubling me. Any help is greatly appreciated. Console still has OFW on it if it makes a difference.

It is missing the right dvd key . Means the dvd key doesn't match... That is why you are getting that error.

Thank you,  I wasnt sure if there was a way to tell if this was the right drive that came with the board.  I have all the h/w and f/w info on the sticker still and can pull the key with j/f. I guess i'll just keep trying a few things. Thanks again.
