Help! Adding buttons on the back of controller.
« on: December 21, 2011, 12:15:27 AM »
I was looking to put my x, y, and b button on the back of my controller with 3 momentary switches.
If anyone could point out what I have to do to hook the wires up to the buttons and be functional?  I have a cg2 controller available to mod.
I was going to use a momentary switch that was something like this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062496

Any help is greatly appreciated.

New account.  Will be replying with this one.

Note: I can't even get into that email anyways and I didn't have much on it.

you cant have two accounts, please let me know which you would like to keep.

as for your mod, if using CG/2 you can just ground the signal. so, one leg of your momentary switch will go to a common ground, and the other leg can go to the via of each button, that way you wont have to disturb the pads keeping the original function of the button.

In the resource center you will find controller scans with the vias for each button marked... (thanks RDC)

Really? You can remove my DarkSydeCraZe.
And for the mod, how would I tap into the via, just scratch off the green coating with a xato, or how?

Thanks for the reply.

Dang.... I don't even have an exacto.  How much to fiberglass pens run?  Or something similar.  (I have a razor.)

a few bucks, use a razor if you want, but be gental, all you want to remove is the paper thin layer of green.

Alright.  Would this work?  http://www.amazon.com/SE-Fiberglass-Scratch-Brush-Type/dp/B0037ZGL2G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324510334&sr=8-1 (I live in hawaii, so I would really need the free shipping.)

Do you know if I could make a button push twice? (eg. One press on a momentary, two presses of a button (Preferably with a small delay between the two).  Or would that require too many parts.
